Vehicle Paint Sprayer

Due to the continued growth of the business, BP Rolls are looking for experienced Vehicle Paint Sprayers to join our team based in Andover, Hampshire.

The role

As a leading repair centre, we have a constant flow of vehicles coming through the workshop so the ideal candidate must be able to work quickly and effectively to hit targets, but most importantly, be able to produce work to an excellent standard. Working on a variety of vehicle repairs for major insurers as well as private jobs, you must be able to cover all areas of the painting process, refinishing vehicles to manufacturer specifications.

About you

You will be an experienced vehicle painter in a professional vehicle workshop and be a strong team player. You will work to a high standard and demonstrate a sound, up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques. You must have skills and competencies in the following areas:

  • New panel surface preparation process
  • Preparation, priming and flattening procedures
  • Sealing techniques
  • Colour identification and mixing process
  • Preparation and application of wet on wet processes and masking techniques
  • Cosmetic repairs on a plastic components
  • Plastic and textured paint application
  • Application of clear over base (COB) metallic
  • Locals repair (blend/fade out)
  • Ability to rectify paint runs and defects
  • Checking quality of all repairs that go through the paint shop and sign off

Qualifications & experience

ATA Senior Paint Technician or NVQ Level 3 is essential to this role, you will also possess at least 2 years of experience in a similar workshop environment.

The package

We are offering a competitive salary with on target earnings between £25,000- £40,000.
You will be required to work Monday to Friday 8:30am-5.30pm with a half hour lunch. Occasional Saturdays are not mandatory at present however they might be required in the future subject to business demand so you will need to have a flexible approach to this.

Overtime subject to availability paid at the standard rate. 20 days annual holiday plus the bank holidays. Full in-house and manufacturer approved training will be provided.
