BP Rolls Group has been contracted to overhaul seven 16-plate ADL Enviro400 MMCs which are being exchanged from Reading Buses’s recently-acquired Newbury and District operation onto the Jet Black service, with a newly updated livery in line with Reading Buses’ new look. A dash of lime on the Jet Black logo will tie in with the accent colour of the newly rebranded Newbury and District buses, also contracted to BP Rolls.
Reading Buses Chief Executive Officer Robert Williams says: “At eight years old the current Jet Black vehicles are now halfway through their expected life. With Jet Black being a longer, interurban service, it makes sense for it to have some of our latest buses. The vehicles are still in excellent condition and will maintain the high-quality offer provided by Newbury and District on school services in a more financially sustainable way.”
BP Rolls have been tasked with the renovation of the livery involving a combination of paintwork, vinyl wrap and applied graphics to the exterior, as well as graphic panels to the interior. Given the size and the timescale of the project, the painting will be split across BP Rolls sites in Andover and Newport, before the graphics are printed in-house at their design studio and applied by their team of fitters in Andover.
