16 year old Danny Burns embarked on an apprenticeship with BP Rolls Automotive Service Centre.

16 year old Danny Burns joined the workshop team within BP Rolls Group Service Centre as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician in 2019.

After completing his GCSE’s, Danny knew that he wanted to become a mechanic so he contacted the company directly to find out if there were any opportunities for an apprenticeship. General Manager, Nathaniel Roach was impressed with his enthusiasm and helped enroll him on the 3 year BTECT Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course at Andover College.

Nathaniel explains how Danny stood out from other applicants:

“He’s spent a few years as an Army Cadet which has given him a good grounding, discipline and respect. He absolutely loves cars and has a thirst for knowledge. He has already made a great start here at BP Rolls and I’m looking forward to watching his learning and career progression.”

Danny currently spends one day a week at Andover College where he learns the theory elements of the course curriculum with the rest of the time spent training on the job in the workshop.
