Safety Markings & Conspicuity
The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 (RVLR) require that certain types and classifications of vehicles, with a gross weight of over 7.5 tonnes, be fitted with retro-reflective rear and side markers that are approved to European standards. BP Rolls can supply, fit and maintain retro-reflective markings on vehicles of any size, from trailers and mixers, to car transporters, refuse vehicles and skip loaders. Does my vehicle need conspicuity markings?
Mandatory conspicuity marking legislation detailed in the UK RVLR applies to the following vehicle types and classes:
- Goods vehicles with a gross weight over 7,500kg, first used on or after 10 July 2011
- Trailers with a gross weight over 3,500kg, manufactured on or after 10 July 2011
